My name is Daniel Lofaso, and I am the founder and President of Digital Elevator.
How do you think SEO has changed over the last 10 years?
SEO has changed for the better in my opinion. There is a lot less gaming the system going on these days due to the intelligence of the machine learning algorithms Google has implemented. Today’s focus is more involved than later years on brand building rather than solely SEO, and Google takes into consideration a lot more factors regarding brands than they ever have before.
How did you get introduced to digital marketing, more specifically SEO?
In aviation school, I met an entrepreneur who wanted to start a business with me. We looked at starting an IT company and an SEO company. The rest is history.
What are the services you provide to your clients?
SEO, PPC, email marketing, web design, content marketing, and some graphic design services.
What strategy according to you will prevail in 2019 for SEO?
Brand building. Multi-channel marketing will prevail in 2019; no longer will brands be able to exclusively do one thing. SEO, social media, some traditional media, and some grassroots marketing will all combine to help brands “touch” customers at the various stages of their buying journey.
What advice would you give to people who are looking to take up digital marketing as a career
Digital marketing is a career choice that has a lot of influence over the lives of your clients. If you are successful, you can have your hand in building a brand and possibly even some millionaires. That can be very rewarding but also comes with some pressure to perform, especially when working with clients with limited budgets or high expectations.
