How do you think SEO has changed over the last 10 years?

Fundamentally it is still the same as it ever was. Trying to get your content found in search engines by seeming more relevant than the other sites trying to do the same thing. Well, now there are more companies trying to rank for their keywords. There are also a lot more SEOs and information about SEO than 10 years ago. What used to be more of a puzzle and experimentation has now become more structured and predictable. Some tactics have changed and new ones become the flavour of the month.

How did you get introduced to digital marketing, more specifically SEO?

I got into SEO while building an online catalog for a distributor I was working for. They had a small static website, which back then was more than most had, but I was getting into database driven sites and built a request for quote system and the business exploded. That was a real eye-opener as to the power of search engines to bring in new clients.

What are the services you provide to your clients?

Our focus is on getting our clients to their goals with video, SEO, and ultimately lead generation.

What strategy according to you will prevail in 2017 for SEO?

Video has been a game changer in SEO and I see nothing topping it in 2017. Great content in most cases means video. Live video will become more important, but for now, companies should be thinking about how they can use video to connect to their ideal prospects. Also, search optimization for mobile and personal assistants (Siri, google, and amazon Alexa)will continue to grow.

What would your advice be to people who are looking to take up digital marketing as a career choice?

There is so much information available out there, my advice is to take on a small project, set your goals and take action. See if you are able to get results that companies would pay you for and if you really like it, because it is not all glamour and success in the world of SEO.
