Brian Colling is the CEO and founder of Colling Media – a Scottsdale, AZ based full-service advertising agency. Brian launched Colling Media in 2009 after many years of sales and marketing with a passion to help businesses find great success with in a changing business landscape. He has grown the agency to a team of seventeen talented team members specializing in traditional and digital advertising services focused on driving results. Brian is married with two children and lives in North Phoenix.

Hi, I’m Brian Colling, CEO of Colling Media, a Phoenix based full-service Advertising Agency.

How do you think SEO has changed over the last 10 years?


Since we started doing SEO, it has evolved from a focus on titles, tags and links to encompassing content marketing, social media, video and local SEO. Community engagement has also become very important. Each marketing channel still requires a foundation based in SEO.

How did you get introduced to digital marketing, more specifically SEO?


Following our history with traditional TV, radio, and billboard advertising, it was a natural progression to add digital advertising and SEO services. Digital marketing and SEO has become a big part of how we help clients reach their goals.

What would your advice be to people who are looking to take up digital marketing as a career choice?


Master the tools and platforms that make up today’s marketing and advertising business. Earn certifications in software like Microsoft Suite, Google Docs, WordPress, Google Analytics, Facebook, HubSpot, HootSuite, SEMRush and Screaming Frog. Then create case studies from your real world examples. Share these wins with your clients and desired audience.
