Maciej-Fita

Please introduce yourself and where you work.

My name is Maciej (ma-chi) Fita and I am the owner of Brandignity, a full-service digital marketing agency located in South Florida.

How do you think SEO has changed over the last 10 years?

Wow, where do I being? When I first started in the SEO industry it was more of a mad science project. Everything revolved around a quantity. 500 of this and 500 of that and all of a sudden you were ranking. That is obviously not the case anymore and I think it’s great to see what SEO has evolved into. I was taught at the very beginning to always wear a marketing hat when executing any SEO strategy. I think that thought process set me up for success. SEO for a long time was about exploiting loopholes and now it’s this powerful inbound marketing tool shrouded in good solid marketing practice. The days of just jamming keywords into your website are over.

How did you get introduced to digital marketing, more specifically SEO?

Around 2006 I started working for a company called MediaBrains, they specialized in B2B directory marketing. I was in charge of a few publications handling sales but I quickly found myself more interested in building up the traffic to the directory by consistently making recommendations on breaking out the directories architecture. Seeing the traffic grow was a good feeling. Soon after I got involved in a startup marketing company, Brick Marketing, located in Boston and from there I learned quite a lot about SEO and also digital marketing in general. After a few years I decided to branch out on my own and Brandignity.com was born. I packed up my winter clothes, set up shop under a palm tree and the rest is history.

What are the services you provide to your clients?

We started off as an SEO agency and overtime we evolved to more of a full service digital marketing company. Now we offer SEO, content marketing, website design/branding, PPC and a few other services. We’ve been able to help hundreds of SMB’s over the years increase their online digital footprint.

What strategy according to you will prevail in 2017 for SEO?

I think mobile and geotargeting will continue to grow. More and more people require answers on the go and businesses need strategic assets to be visible for mobile users. I think we’re on the nose end of this trend. I still see people get frustrated looking for things on their mobile devices which leads me to believe there is still quite a bit of innovation left to achieve.

What would your advice be to people who are looking to take up digital marketing as a career choice?

You have to love change. The digital marketing space is extremely dynamic and you have to be able to bob and weave when it comes to strategy. Something might be popular today and gone tomorrow which also makes it a very exciting industry to be part of.
