Please introduce yourself and where you work.

My name is Victor Smushkevich, and I’m an internet marketer with 11 years experience in SEO, Paid Advertising and lead generation. I’m the CEO of SmartStreetMedia, a Los Angeles based SEO agency and the CEO of SEOGuestPosts.com, a blogger outreach agency that specializes in scaling SEO agency’s link building campaigns.

How do you think SEO has changed over the last 10 years?

I feel like SEO has generally stayed the same if you’ve been doing it correctly. Google still puts a strong emphasis on on-page optimization and high quality links. The main factors that have changed is user engagement on the SERPs, on your website and on the websites where you have links from.

How did you get introduced to digital marketing, more specifically SEO?

I got started in digital marketing when I started my first e-commerce business and realized that just building a website wasn’t going to make you money. It forced me to learn SEO because I was very young at the time and SEO was the cheapest way to get traffic.

What are the services you provide to your clients?

We provide local and national SEO campaigns to business who are looking to grow their organic traffic. We are a full-service SEO agency that offers everything from SEO audits, blogger outreach campaigns, Google penalty recovery and more.

What strategy according to you will prevail in 2019 for SEO?

We’ve seen a strong emphasis on CTR in the SERPs over the past couple years and we believe that this will continue to be a key factor in SEO rankings. We also see that on-page tuning, as well as high-quality link building, are still extremely important ranking factors.

What advice would you give to people who are looking to take up digital marketing as a career choice?

I would suggest to stick with one thing and master it. There are a million different ways to make money online, but if you stick to one traffic source and master it, it will help you focus your energy and build your skill set much faster. I would also suggest joining high-end masterminds because this will drastically cut your learning curve. Paying a couple of thousand dollars to get into a good peer group will cut your learning curve by years and save you a significant amount of money on testing to see what works.
