Adam Chronister owns and operates Enleaf, a successful full stack marketing agency based in Spokane, WA. My name is Adam Chronister. I have worked in the marketing industry since 2009, gaining experience in both the B2B and B2C industries. Throughout my career, I have interfaced with companies small and large and have learned quite a bit about what it takes to both survive and thrive in today’s competitive online business landscape. Since 2009, I have owned and operated Enleaf<\/a>, a successful digital marketing startup based in Spokane, WA.<\/div>\n

How do you think SEO has changed over the last 10 years?<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n

Over the last 10 years, the SEO industry has changed quite a bit. I have seen more than my share of people who once made great livings jump ship after Google algorithms made rankings much harder to achieve. With the constant Google algorithm changes and the introduction of things like RankBrain, it’s just simply harder to do SEO than it used to be. You have to keep up both with what Google and other search engines are doing and also put in more sweat equity to see results. Nevertheless, when you can set the proper expectations with your clients and help them to understand the processes and the time it takes to get results there is still a lot that can be achieved through a well thought-out and organized digital marketing strategy. It’s the reason I love what I do. I can take a company that is struggling and completely transform their business within a matter of months.<\/div>\n

How did you get introduced to digital marketing, more specifically SEO?<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n

My background is in Software Development. Shortly out of college, I worked for a software development firm as a project manager. Afer recognizing that they did not have much in the way of marketing, I offered to help manage some of the companies social media accounts. From there I learned more about the practice of digital marketing. I started attending SEO conferences and studying the subject more and more and just fell in love the with power that SEO can offer businesses that are looking to grow their audience.<\/div>\n

What strategy according to you will prevail in 2018 for SEO?<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n

In 2018 I believe the strategy that will have the greatest impact on SEO is the focus and attention on well thought out, long-form content, especially where the content is unique and helpful. While the last few years saw a lot of emphasis on the frequency of content, I think in 2018 will be the year of less is more. I also believe that continued emphasis on page load times and website usability is going to continue to play more and more into how a site ranks online. Mobile is here to stay and companies will need to start designing for mobile first and desktop second to stay ahead.<\/div>\n

What would your advice be to people who are looking to take up digital marketing as a career choice?<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n

I think the biggest advice I can give to those looking to make a career out of digital marketing is to foster a passion for learning. The digital marketing ecosphere is one that changes daily, so if you are not keeping up with trends and changes in the environment you will quickly get left behind.<\/div>\n
