Question:

If Do-follow links are proven to boost PageRank, then why does Google recommend sites to build No-follow links as well?

Answer:

Many experienced SEO will know that originally around 2005, the no-follow attribute was developed to help fight comment link spam, flag paid links and also to disassociate responsibility when linking to external sites from your website. However, in present day SEO (and for several years now),

Question:

Google representatives have often insinuated that they could be using brand mentions as an authority signal; do you think brand mentions or citations can influence rankings of a website?

Answer:

I 100% believe that citations and brand mentions can influence the rankings of a website. Is it as good as a followed link? Probably not. But, it all comes back to relevance and trust. If you are mentioned on (cited) a highly relevant site then that helps the search engine to build a picture of your business.

With all the new TLDs coming in, how do you think domain names and domain extensions will affect SEO?

Answer:

According to 2018 statistics, .com utilizes 46.8% of the total available domains, followed by .org with 5.2% ; .ru with 4.4% and .net with 3.7. This .com position has been maintained since Nov 2017 without any significant change, so no matter how good other TLDs are doing .com is the definitive source for commerce, hence its name .com from commerce which is what fuels the internet economy. Question:

Do you think cloaking can be used as a White Hat SEO Technique to rank your website without getting penalised? If so, Why?

Answer:

For those of you who don't know what cloaking is, it is when you show one version of a website to a search engine and another version of a website to a user. The version that you show to the search engine is set up to rank well and the version that you are showing to the user generally looks different and can often serve a different purpose than the web page that's being ranked. Cloaking is done by both white hat and black hat websites.

Question:

What is the importance of rankings today as far as you're concerned?

Answer:

I have a very direct notion towards this topic and that is, ranking and conversions are directly proportional. Higher the ranking, more the traffic will be! If your competitors are ranking higher on multiple keywords then chances are they are drawing the maximum traffic in your niche.
I will let the numbers speak here:
Being #1 gets you an average share of 32.5% of the traffic, and #2 is just 17.6% and #3 at 11.4%. And while you may be on the first page, but if you are #10 you only get a paltry 2.4%.
