Get to know Danny Barker, Owner, DBWD

Danny-Barker

Please introduce yourself and where you work.

I’m Danny Barker, owner of DBWD, a web and SEM agency in Bedfordshire.

How do you think SEO has changed over the last 10 years?

It’s got better! With black hat techniques falling away and becoming less relevant, doing things ‘properly’ has become the default.

How did you get introduced to digital marketing, more specifically SEO?

I first saw the power of SEO in the late 1990’s, when I saw how easy it was to get an IT company I worked for to the top of Google. Lots of hidden text and spammy links back then!

What are the services you provide to your clients?

We create bespoke websites for clients and provide SEO, PPC and much more! Essentially we generate leads and sales for small to medium sized companies, working as their external web marketing team.

What strategy according to you will prevail in 2017 for SEO?

Top quality links will always be top of the pile, getting the on-page factors spot on is key too, as is getting those user interaction signals looking rosy.

What would your advice be to people who are looking to take up digital marketing as a career choice?

Don’t take everything your hear as gospel, there is some awful SEO advice out there and spending time researching key people in the industry is essential.
