To improve the visibilty of your business in local search engines, needs to follow the below steps and find more customers-

1) Keyword optimization is main important element to analyze any website. To optimize your local business, find right keyword for your business. For Example-  If you have a hotel in Miami then “Best Hotel in Miami” will be one of your main keywords.

For Local business, you should focus product/services and location where you offer that one. 

2) Optimize your website content according to the location and services. Mention city and state in your web content .

If you offer your services in four different locations then create specific page to target each location.

For Example, If you offer plumber services in New york, Miami, Florida and Chicago, then create 4 content pages for each location like “Plumber services in Florida”.

3) Get listed on Google My Business page and claim your listing.

4) Create business listings on top and location based citation sites.

5) Request your customers to add some genuine reviews on Google + Local page.

6) Create profile on Facebook business page and include your physical location.

7) Find your competitors and analyze your local competitors. Use open site explorer or Ahrefs.com to spy on your competitors and create backlinks on sites where your  competitors are already listed.
