He has a background in mathematics. His knowledge of many software and coding languages have evolved into an extensive skill set for producing excellent and quantifiable results in the SEO industry.

Please introduce yourself and where you work.


I am an entrepreneur and founder of Regex SEO, where we develop successful marketing campaigns for many companies, including John Deere and Dignity Memorial. As the Internet Marketing Director, my goal is to help businesses big and small grow their online presence.

How do you think SEO has changed over the last 10 years?


SEO has changed drastically over last 10 years. It is all about quality nowadays, while in the past, it was more about quantity. The great content is the most important piece of the puzzle now, while in the past, it was all about how to cheat your way around search engines’ algorithms – by manipulating links, IPs, PBNs etc. Today, these things do not play any role, and everything comes down to providing high value to users, which leads to high engagement, and, in turn, leads to higher rankings.

How did you get introduced to digital marketing, more specifically SEO?


I have been tinkering with SEO since high school. My professional career started when I was hired as a “PHP developer, specializing in SEO” – a made up name for basically.. well, SEO specialist. I had to learn the ins and outs very quickly, as my job depended on it. Within 6 months or so, I was running the SEO department in that company, and the rest, as they say, is history.

What are the services you provide to your clients?


We are a full service internet marketing agency – when someone needs to take their brand new (or existing) business online, we take it from ground zero, all the way to infinity. Starting from brand development and web design, to every type of internet marketing campaign – SEO, email marketing, social media marketing, PPC, content marketing and more.

What strategy according to you will prevail in 2019 for SEO?


Content marketing strategy. “Content is king” has never been more accurate. I don’t get tired repeating myself: Provide great value to users and they will come back for more. No matter if it’s service, product, or entertainment. Create amazing content, spread the word through various content marketing strategies, and everything else will follow.

What advice would you give to people who are looking to take up digital marketing as a career choice?


No matter if it’s digital marketing or not – always try it first. Go sign up for an internship in a digital marketing agency, or create your own little website, and try to market it online. This way you will get a taste of what you would be doing on a daily basis if you decide to go full time into digital marketing. And, of course, talk to experts, learn from folks who’ve been in the industry for a long time. Ask them for advice on where to start within the industry, what departments there are and what they do etc.
