Please introduce yourself and where you work.

I’m Jane Clark, Creative Director & Owner of Teakettica, LLC.
Teakettica is a woman-owned web design and branding studio based in Newark, Delaware. Since 2009, Our mission has always been to help small businesses bloom through thoughtful brand design and marketing strategies.

How do you think SEO has changed over the last 10 years?

SEO has become more content driven but also more formulaic. 10 years ago, SEO was a lot more trial and error, rinse and repeat. Now you can follow a simple transparent formula to get the job done. Keywords have become merely a guide to create more focused and relevant content as opposed to a tool search engines use to find you. Readability score has been recently introduced, but I don’t believe it’s going to be a large contributing factor moving forward.

How did you get introduced to digital marketing, more specifically SEO?

After I quit my job in 2009 to start my own business, it was the right place at the right time. Service providers were moving away from the uber expensive yellow pages and turning to the internet as a different referral source. SEO was a lot easier then due to the fact many competitors in all industries were not also doing SEO. Results were achieved with less trial and error. As time

What are the services you provide to your clients?

Our full-service Delaware design studio works with clients locally, nationally, and internationally. Projects range from large and small, from local small businesses to fortune 300 companies. We offer Brand Design, Content Development, Graphic Design, Logo Design, Marketing & Consulting, Web Design & Development.

What strategy according to you will prevail in 2018 for SEO?

Link building, internal and external linking to relevant and quality content, will be bigger than ever.

What would your advice be to people who are looking to take up digital marketing as a career choice?

Digital marketing is a saturated market. If you take on Google Adwords, you will help separate yourself from some of the competition. Find your niche and you’ll do well.
