Latest Additions to Rank Tracking: Knowledge Panel & Google Job Postings

October 7, 2022 | Feature Update

RankWatch keeps upgrading its features to provide users with all the information they need to create successful data-driven SEO strategies.

Keeping that in mind, today, we would like to share with you the two latest additions to our rank tracking results: Knowledge Panel and Google Job Posting. Previously, these metrics included Local, Images, News, Ads, Videos, and Answers.

Know more about your keyword position

What is Knowledge Panel?

The Knowledge Panel or Knowledge Graphs appear when you search for people, places, organizations, etc. These boxes give you a quick snapshot of information related to the searched query. They are generated automatically based on Google’s understanding of the related content on the internet.

Knowledge Panels are aligned to the right in the SERPs and include brief information about the searched entity, followed by links to the connected social media profiles, etc.

Google Job Postings

What is Google Job Posting?

Google collects job postings from all over the internet and lists them together in the SERPs. Google obtains this data from job posting pages of individual sites and also, recruitment sites. Google Job Posting helps job seekers find the next best job through a simple search. However, to find jobs through search, the query needs to be specific, for instance: ‘Catering Jobs in New York.’ This way, Google lists all the catering jobs available in New York.

Google Job Postings

How does this functionality work?

Along with the organic rankings, we will collect information about Knowledge Graphs and Job Postings from the SERPs related to a specific keyword.

Know more about your keywords position

These are color coded for convenient and quick interpretation (this is also common for other search snippets):

Green Icon: Signifies that your domain has a knowledge panel for a certain keyword. And your Job listing is ranked amongst the top ones.

Blue Icon: If the knowledge and jobs icon are coded blue, then that means there’s a knowledge panel and job posting for your target keyword, but your domain is not ranking for it.

Grey Icon: Implies that there are no knowledge panels or job postings on the first SERP.

How to use these rank tracking metrics to your benefit?

After analyzing the data, you can formulate targeted strategies and optimize for better keywords to stay on top in job postings and knowledge panel. Apart from that, RankWatch gives you the benefit of analyzing similar data for your competitors as well.

If you have any query or suggestion related to these latest additions to search snippets, I would love to know about them. Please feel free to reach out to us at [email protected].

Happy Rank Tracking!
