long tail Seo

The long Tail promotion gives many advantages. The main thing is an ability to spend the little budget on a website promotion. Three are head queries, medium and long tail is the one, which is put in search box more rarely than others. This kind of promotion is considered to be the simplest one as long as there is the newest competition.

Usually, long-tail queries are those, which are put in search box no more than 300-1000 times per month. You might see others numbers while reading articles on this topic. It is not that important. The most significant thing to keep in mind about long tail is that there is always not much of a competition.

It is obvious fact. You should agree that there are more companies and webmasters who might want to promote under popular queries in order to get more traffic. Also, many newbies make a mistake working on head queries only. The competition is huge down there.

Hundreds and in some cases thousands and dozens or thousands are going to compete for a place in search results and there are 10 of them only. Practice shows that if the page is not in the top 10, it is useless to wait for some traffic.

It is worth to pay attention to long tail just because they allow to receive at least some traffic. Let us look at two websites, which have chosen different promotion strategies.

One new website decided on promoting with the help of head queries while the other chose long tail. After some time the second website turns out to have a search traffic. It is most likely to be little, about 10-100 people but it is there. The first website might even not take any position in the top 10, which means that its owner is to spend money on its promotion.

A key difference is that in the case with head query promotion, there is always a risk to spend money on promotion not to get any or a traffic at all or it is going to be minimal because very few people click more than 5 positions.

There is no risk if you optimize and hone your content for the long tail. In due course, if there are no serious errors on the website, its pages are to be shown on top. Let it bring less traffic but it is going to be stable.

There is no need to buy links. You may forget about it. You can reach the top of the account of high-quality texts and good search engine optimization (SEO). The only thing is that you can get links by-hand if you know how.

You may not spend money on a specialist if you are ready to learn a bit yourself. Promotion is not that hard. All you need is to obtain at least some knowledge in this area, to be familiar with the key occurrence, relevance, uniqueness, keyword density, duplicate pages, etc.

It is going to be easier for you if your website is on a WordPress platform. Today thousands of masters in their free articles give much useful advice on how to promote a website let alone how to set it technically.

A person who centers a semantic kernel defines and gathers long-tail phrases. To put it simply, it is a list of key phrases a website is going to be promoted to. s/he is the one is familiar with all the instrumentation required for that. There is such a service as WordStat. You enter a query and the service shows you the number of times the query was searched per month. You need to understand though that it shows a wide frequency. A simple example is that if to put the word «kitchen» in words that, it will show a big number, about a few millions of times.

In order to find out an accurate frequency of a word or a phrase, put a full text and in quotes and to put an exclamation mark ahead of each word. For example: «!how!to!set!up!a!computer!all!alone!»

There are free and paid services for checking the competition. You need to input a key. If it consists of a few words, a phrase is then to put in quotes. The services themselves give a clue.

The long tail has a strong potential because people come up with unique queries daily, which were not set by search systems before. Especially now when voice search becomes popular, the length of queries increases, and a number of new unique queries to search systems grows. Queries can be trendy, seasonal, etc. Such online services as semrush.com, ahrefs.com, serpstat.com have query bases of their own, which they gather from different sources.

Search systems are not the only places where people search for information but big websites such as amazon.com, pinterest.com, etc. For example, kparser.com gives an opportunity to parse fresh clues from amazon.com, ebay.com.

If your project already has some traffic from search systems, you have few more data sources such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and you can wide up to a semantic kernel of an existing website or to create a new one.

If you have a content website, it is going to cost you nothing to create pages for long tail queries. You take a long tail query, d a test assignment, to create a page and get a traffic (maybe).

Everything sounds perfect. What seems to be the problem?

If you are a beginning webmaster or a new entrepreneur, a principle above is going to solve your problem easily, as long as all you need to do is to get the idea and to receive a profit from efforts you have made.

If this is not your first time working on content projects, you most likely know of query cannibalization (in other words, it is when you have a few pages on your website go under one query and make it troublesome promotion.

In conclusion, be attentive to your semantic kernel because it is the place where all the necessary information about your clients, use qualitative keyword sources, work with big massive of long tail queries, offer those goods on the pages of your website, which are relevant to search queries, entering the page and make sure that this strategy provides your website with a good growth even in a downturn.

Certainly, a long tail website promotion requires more time and affords from a specialist on carrying out a full optimization and a resource structuring but as a result, you get a website ready for promotion. There is no need in such optimization at head query promotion, which is why after the work stops, an Internet resource feels a rapid fall down in top search engine results.

  1. Make sure there is a unique title on each page
  2. Interlinking between the connected pages
  3. An anchor is used at interlinking, which is going to be the main key for the page
